Moving to Mauritius with an Occupation Permit (OP)

1. Occupation Permit – Investor.
Whether you wish to set up a company in Mauritius to conduct activities locally or internationally or invest in an existing company and to live in Mauritius with your family, you will need an OP as investor to do so.

a. Set up an entity in Mauritius to conduct activities locally or internationally
– Initial investment of USD 50,000
– Annual gross income of MUR 4 million (≈ USD 91,450) as from 3rd year of registration for renewal of OP as Investor
 
b. For existing business in Mauritius
– Net value asset of at least USD 50,000
– Cumulative turnover of at least MUR 12 million (≈ USD 274,300) for the last 3 years
– Annual gross income MUR 4 million (≈ USD 91,450) as from 3rd year of registration for renewal
 
c. Investor intending to bring high-tech machinery and equipment
 – Initial investment USD 50,000 [USD 25,000 in bank account and USD 25,000 value of high-tech machines and equipment]
 
d. Foreign nationals wishing to invest in an innovative project
–  No investment
–  Operational expenditure during research phase constitute at least 20% R&D
– Conducting R&D in qualifying sectors including but not limited to life and health sciences, technology, ICT, fintech, biotechnology, nano technology, light manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and design.

2. Occupation Permit – Self-employed.
Whether you wish to set up a company in Mauritius to conduct activities locally or internationally or invest in an existing company and to live in Mauritius with your family, you will need an OP as investor to do so.

Moving to Mauritius with a Residential Permit (RP)

1. Occupation Permit – Investor.
– Foreign nationals aged 50 years or above.
– Monthly transfer of at least USD 1,500.
– Validity: 10 years, renewable.

2. Residence Permit under Property Acquisition.
With property investment and purchase, you can get a residence permit for you and your family.
You can buy a property in Mauritius for a minimum of USD 375,000 in a real estate project under one of the available schemes:
– Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS)
– Real Estate Scheme (RES)
– Property Development Scheme (PDS)
– Smart City Scheme (SCS)
– Ground +2 Apartments
The Residence Permit is valid as long as you own the property.

3. Residence Permit as Dependents.
The Dependents of an OP or RP holder are eligible for a residence permit in Mauritius. Dependents are defined as spouse (including Common Law Partner of the opposite sex), parents, and dependent children including stepchildren or lawfully adopted children who are unmarried and not engaged in any gainful activity.
